Once I've framed my shot, one of the main challenges for me is getting it focused in a way that captures the image that I want. My camera has an excellent
lens, and all kinds of technical wizardry inside, but sometimes I
really need to override the automatic focus. This entails taking the
camera out of intelligent auto mode and having a really hard think. After fiddling around with the
settings as well as the micro-dot that functions as a joy-stick, I have
managed to produce this one decent image in full manual mode. I can hear you all cheering, "Finally!"
It helps that the subject is completely static.
