The Eviction: Mama and her 3 kits thought they could hang out in the small space between our garage roof and the deck -- Bye!

With a little encouragement from R and the garden hose, off they went: down the Saskatoon berry trees, over the rhubarb, through the garlic, and around the lilac. Last seen sneaking through the back fence, in a bit of a huff.

It was another warm day yesterday; almost 28°C and very windy. This butterfly took a short rest on our deck before flitting off with a friend. Could it have been scared by its own shadow?

A pair of Sharp-shinned hawks are making regular appearances. We think we've spotted a new nest high up in one of the beech trees.

Last week's photo call-out in the Globe and Mail was for photos of water. The two pictures that I submitted made the cut.
